International Competition for the Faith Park Reaches Its Final Stage
The international competition for Faith Park, a new public space in the capital, has chosen 12 finalist teams. These teams include some of the world’s most renowned architects from the United Kingdom, Portugal, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Mexico, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Italy. Today, these teams are presenting their project proposals to an international jury.
Prime Minister Rama attended the event and said that Faith Park is inspired by the values of the Holy Scriptures, religious harmony, and peaceful coexistence — virtues passed down through generations.
“Faith Park is not a symbol of religion — quite the opposite. It is a place of admiration that doesn’t ask what you believe; it simply invites you to marvel at the silent resilience of the fig trees and the swaying shapes of the olive trees in the wind. It allows you to understand what our ancestors once understood: that development was not merely a backdrop; it was Holy Scripture,” the Prime Minister described.
He continued, “This park is not a museum of faith. It is a living scripture not written in ink, but in roots. Not in doctrines, but in shadows, trees, and soil.” It is a space where silence is the presence of attention, not the absence of sound. It is a park that embraces beliefs and identities.”
The international design competition for the master plan aims to redefine the concepts of “community” and “shelter.”
The park will offer spaces for rest and interaction among groups of different nationalities and faiths. It will serve as a venue for events celebrating these communities. By placing coexistence at its core, the project will establish a new spatial dynamic in the capital, symbolizing peace, sustainability, and unity among the Albanian people of all faiths.
