Agreement Between MIE and Polytechnic University of Tirana Deepens Cooperation Between Government and University

Today, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy (MIE) and the Polytechnic University of Tirana signed a cooperation agreement under the University Pact framework to support student training through paid internship programs. This initiative aims to enhance students’ professional skills and provide them with firsthand experience in infrastructure development processes.
Prime Minister Rama attended a meeting with the Polytechnic University’s faculty and students. He stated that, through the University Pact’s cooperation programs, all students will have the opportunity to start shaping their future prospects before completing their studies by participating in internships.
He also emphasized that the Pact is improving infrastructure, citing the Polytechnic University as an example. The university is being strengthened with two new, modern buildings. These buildings will provide optimal space and conditions for students studying subjects ranging from engineering to geology.
“We certainly won’t stop there. Beyond this new and necessary infrastructure, it’s equally important to support the university in strengthening its laboratories and technology. This will allow the university to fully benefit from the epochal changes happening worldwide,” he said. He emphasized the importance of creating spaces that enable faculty and students to cultivate their talents, knowledge, and intellectual curiosity, especially in artificial intelligence. “In next year’s budget and future budgets, we will allocate funds to support worthwhile initiatives in this area. For this reason, I take this opportunity to call on faculty and students to work together as much as possible to increase the artificial intelligence component across all university spaces,” Prime Minister Rama added.
The agreement was signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku and the head of the Polytechnic University of Tirana, Prof. Akli Fundo.
