Albania Presents First National Strategy for Sustainable Marinas

For the first time, Albania participated in the 5th International Conference on Sustainable and Smart Marinas in Monaco. There, it introduced its first national strategy for developing marinas along the Albanian coastline.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku stated that the Strategy for Smart and Sustainable Marinas aim to establish Albania as an important Mediterranean maritime tourism hub, following in the footsteps of neighboring countries such as Croatia, Montenegro, and Greece. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy is developing the project in collaboration with Italian architect Luca Dini and his team.
New investments in Porto Romano and Triport, as well as the upcoming Durrës and Vlorë marinas, lay the groundwork for implementing the strategy. The long-term vision is to create sustainable and innovative infrastructure that will support tourism and open new employment and educational opportunities for young Albanians in the maritime sector.
During the conference, the Albanian government met with representatives from other governments and international investors interested in the maritime industry, including the Minister of Public Works and Maritime Industry of Monaco.
