Minister Hoxha Calls for Regional Institutional Coordination to Strengthen the Diaspora at the 4th Diaspora Summit

In his remarks at the panel “Pan-Albanian Diaspora: Are We Doing What We Should Together?” at the 4th Diaspora Summit, emphasized the need for closer coordination and a unified approach to strengthening ties between the state and the diaspora. The goal is to increase the diaspora’s contribution to the country’s development and achieve shared objectives.
He stressed the importance of coordination among institutions and organizations working with the diaspora, including diplomatic missions and regional partners in Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Montenegro, to improve the effectiveness of activities and initiatives.
The minister emphasized that support for the diaspora should be more harmonized in key areas such as language, identity, culture, investment, and innovation. He stressed the need for a coordinated approach, particularly in cultural promotion.
The minister pointed out some existing structures and initiatives, such as specialized directorates within ministries, national diaspora agencies, and publishing centers for Albanians abroad. However, he noted that, despite these steps, the process remains fragmented.

In conclusion, the minister reaffirmed the commitment to close cooperation with all stakeholders to strengthen the diaspora’s role in the country’s development and improve relations with the countries in which they reside.
