Minister Pirdeni Says Public Administration Reform Strengthens Albania’s Capacity for EU Membership

Albania has advanced in its Public Administration Reform, according to Minister of State for Public Administration and Anti-Corruption Adea Pirdeni. The country has a clear plan to modernize public administration and bolster institutional capacities in support of its EU accession process.
The Minister emphasized that public administration reform continues to be one of the main pillars of Albania’s European integration process and has a direct impact on the operation of public institutions and the implementation of reforms across all sectors during a press conference held to mark the end of Public Administration Week.
According to Minister Pirdeni, the evaluations conducted by the European Commission attest to Albania’s establishment of a public administration with unified institutional capabilities that has successfully finished the EU screening procedure and is assisting in the advancement of the accession talks. She recalled that the European Union established the standards for Public Administration Reform and the conclusion of negotiations under Chapters 23 and 24 on May 26 at the Eighth Intergovernmental Conference.
The minister emphasized that Albania’s public administration currently uses a modernized approach for civil service recruiting and career growth. The next stage, according to the Minister, is to further enhance the system by making it more accessible to young professionals and better prepared to handle the difficulties of the accession discussions and the responsibilities that come with being a member of the European Union.
Minister Pirdeni claims that the process of EU integration offers a chance to fortify public institutions and further solidify the rule of law. As part of continuous efforts to improve institutional integrity and comply with European norms, Public Administration Week also gave anti-corruption programs particular attention.
