80 students of the Agricultural University received scholarships in the amount of minimum wage

210 scholarships with a monthly value equaling the minimum wage were provided to the universities of the priority programs.
The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, held a meeting with the students of the priority branches of the Agricultural University of Tirana (UBT) who have benefited from the Scholarship Support Program as minimum wages.

Minister Manastirliu said that the Agricultural University of Tirana has benefited from financial support with scholarships of 40,000 Lek/month for 80 students, emphasizing the continuity of support to study programs that are considered of strategic interest.

“210 minimum wage scholarships provided to our universities have already become effective, 80 of which are scholarships granted to the Agricultural University of Tirana, and precisely in fields of study such as agricultural engineering, forestry engineering, bio marine, aquaculture and other important branches for the economic development and territorial development as a whole. The minimum wage scholarships are available from the moment you start your studies and this will continue throughout the months of study,” said the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu.

This year, the priority programs include Agricultural Engineering in different profiles, Marine Biology and Aquaculture, Environmental Sciences and many other programs, which prove the wide range of programs that aim to prepare qualified professionals for current and future challenges in the respective sectors.

“Minimum salary scholarships support students of programs of strategic interest for the country, but this is also one more guarantee that in the future we will have qualified professionals in these fields who are of interest to the development sectors, and to the labor market. On the other hand, this is a guarantee for future employment and with the new modalities we want to channel the employment to those criteria which will then be binding for special structures of the economy and public institutions after the end of your studies they can be recruited according to all legal provisions but also institutional rules,” said Manastirliu.

In addition, UBT is moving forward on the path of internationalization by becoming a strategic partner of the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna. This collaboration, which comes through a 4-year project, aims to bring a radical reform to the university, improving the curricula and responding to the real needs of the market. Therefore, Minister Manastirliu also emphasized the importance of joint programs and double degrees of our universities with renowned international institutions, providing students with a global perspective and great opportunities for professional development.
