Minister Manastirliu Announces Increased Investments in Scientific Research at Universities

The Ministry of Education and Sports has increased funding to support scientific research in universities with the goal of improving both educational quality and technical advancement.
During her visit to the Polytechnic University of Tirana, where she saw two new laboratories, the vibration testing laboratory at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the electric machines laboratory at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Minister Ogerta Manastirliu emphasized the significance of enhancing research infrastructure.

“The Polytechnic University of Tirana has ten sponsored projects under its belt thanks to investments in research and development initiatives as well as infrastructure. During this time, more than 130 research projects have received funding from all universities, academies, and companies,” stated Ogerta Manastirliu, the Minister of Education and Sports.
The National Agency for Scientific Research, Technology, and Innovation (NASRTI) is providing funding for the two new labs.

The goal of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering’s Electric Machines Laboratory is to enhance students’ practical training by providing them with the latest technology. It will also help to advance and further scientific studies in the area of electric machines.
Similar to this, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering’s vibration testing laboratory was founded to further vibration mechanics research and support graduate students pursuing master’s and PhD degrees.
According to Minister Manastirliu, investments will go on with the help of development and scientific research initiatives.
“With the approval of the new budget, we will soon launch a call for research projects and investments in the fields of science and technology, strengthening the role of our universities as centers of development and innovation,” stated Manastirliu.
These initiatives, which improve chances for students and academics at our universities, are a major step toward strengthening and advancing scientific research.
