Albanian Organic Products at BIOFACH 2025 Reach International Market

Albania successfully participated in BIOFACH 2025, one of the largest organic fairs in the world, presenting the quality and diversity of its products to 35,000 visitors from over 130 countries and 2,500 international exhibitors.
On February 13, 2025, as part of the fair, the German Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture, Mr. Cem Özdemir, visited the Albanian stand, where he was introduced to Albanian organic products. Minister Özdemir was welcomed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Dritan Palnikaj, representatives of AIDA (Albanian Investment Development Agency) and Albanian producers who presented their organic products in the national pavilion.
Albania’s participation in BIOFACH 2025, supported by AIDA, ITC and the Swiss Import Promotion Program (SIPPO), is an important step in promoting the Albanian organic sector and integrating local producers into European markets.
11 Albanian companies represented Albania at BIOFACH 2025
Eleven Albanian companies participated in the fair, presenting a wide range of organic products:
– Musai Olive Oil – Premium olive oil
– Olivae Oleoteca – Organic extra virgin olive oil
– Essential – Natural essential oils
– Natural Herbal E.V.R. – Medicinal and aromatic plants
– BioBes – Medicinal and aromatic plants
– Ekoprod – Medicinal and aromatic plants
– Albanian Herb – Organic plants with high nutritional value
– Vasilis Organic – Organic plants
– Filipi Company
– Bidaj
– Natural Herba Fructus
Participation in international fairs such as BIOFACH 2025 strengthens Albania’s position in the organic products market and paves the way for increased exports of local products. These efforts are further supported by the Law on Organic Production, Labeling and Control of Organic Products, adopted last year, which sets clear rules in line with EU standards. The law is expected to have a positive impact on export growth and bring economic benefits to Albanian farmers.
