Bubullimë Health Center Renovated, Benefiting Approximately 5,900 Residents with Ongoing Investments in 100 More Centers

Albana Koçiu, Minister of Health and Social Protection, and Eriselda Sefa, Mayor of Lushnjë, visited the Bubullimë Health Center in Lushnjë to inspect ongoing renovations. The center will serve approximately 5,900 people in the region.

Koçiu emphasized that the center will be equipped with modern medical technology, making it a model facility for the entire region.

Citing a recently signed agreement with four mayors to test a service-oriented approach in health, education and agriculture, she further emphasized that the decentralization process is focused on improving services to citizens.

The goal of the agreement, according to Minister Koçiu, is to “ensure that communities can receive services based on their needs. Municipalities will have a greater say in the provision of health care, as they will be able to provide services directly to those who need them.
Providing home care for people who are unable to physically visit the Bubullimë Health Center is a priority, according to Koçiu, who spoke with the center’s staff.

According to Minister Koçiu, “340 health centers have been renovated with modern infrastructure and 60 more are nearing completion” as part of the National Program for the Rehabilitation of Health Centers. To complete the cycle of health centers and primary health care facilities, and to bring services closer to people’s homes, the construction of another 100 centers will begin under the 2025-2026 budget plan.
