€167 Million Transferred to Special Pension Fund

Approximately €167 million in unspent 2025 budget funds have been transferred to the Special Pension Fund and deposited into a dedicated Bank of Albania account.
This transfer was carried out in accordance with Normative Act No. 11, dated December 19, 2025, and in line with the legal framework governing the budget system’s management. These funds consist of unspent allocations from ministries and public institutions from the previous year.
According to the Ministry of Finance, this step aims to strengthen the financial sustainability of the pension scheme and ensure its long-term stability. The transfer is considered part of the implementation of pension reform, focusing on consolidating the fund and ensuring responsible public financial management.
The Special Pension Fund serves as a supporting mechanism to meet current and future obligations to pensioners, thereby contributing to a more sustainable and reliable system.
