Javelin Missile Systems Delivered to Land Force Command in Zall Herr

As part of the strategic cooperation between Albania and the United States, Javelin missile systems were delivered to the Land Force Command in Zall Herr, marking a new step in the modernization of the country’s defense capabilities.
Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu stated that the introduction of the Javelin system is a symbol of strength and capability as well as a message of strategic clarity. It is also a planned investment in times of peace carried out with budgetary discipline and long-term vision. Vengu emphasized that the intention is not to threaten anyone, but rather to increase credibility and deterrence.
“Defense is not a luxury, but a pillar of the state and a condition for the existence of a serious state that seeks to be a strong link in all the processes that lie ahead,” Vengu said, emphasizing that countries that delay investments in defense face higher costs in emergency situations.
Nensi Van Horn, the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Tirana, described the delivery as an indicator of the shared commitment to regional security and NATO strengthening. She noted that the systems represent advanced technology and support Albania’s objectives within the framework of collective defense. Van Horn added that increasing security commitments requires consistent focus on readiness and military modernization. She also praised Albania’s contribution of troops and military equipment to NATO and international missions worldwide.
