Librazhd–Pogradec Road Reopens as ARRSH Confirms Safety Following Technical Tests
The Librazhd–Pogradec road has reopened to traffic after being blocked due to a landslide. According to the Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH), technical tests on the rehabilitated segment revealed no issues affecting safety standards.
Albanian Road Authority Director Ami Kozeli stated that the segment was tested under laboratory conditions and with heavy-tonnage vehicles, and the results confirmed its stability. Kozeli emphasized that a significant amount of work had been carried out over the past 10 days to restore traffic as quickly as possible.
Authorities have called on heavy vehicle drivers to respect the 8.2-ton maximum axle limit, warning that exceeding this weight could cause damage and pothole formation that would hinder traffic. The responsible institutions will continue to closely monitor the situation to address any potential problems.
Meanwhile, procedures are expected to begin immediately for the 1.3-kilometer alternative route, with construction projected to last at least 60 days depending on weather conditions.
