Elbasan, July 17 — Ogerta Manastirliu, the Minister of Education and Sports, inspected the reconstruction work at the nine-year school “Jonuz Çarçiu” in the village of Tregan, Elbasan. This significant investment aims to provide modern conditions for students and teachers in rural areas.
The project is nearing completion, and the school is expected to open at the start of the 2025–2026 academic year. It will transform into an educational complex with modern facilities, including laboratories, a gym, sports fields, and a kindergarten.
Emphasizing the importance of this investment for the Tregan community, Minister Manastirliu stated:
“The investments we’ve made year after year are now being finalized, and new construction sites are opening across the country’s educational infrastructure.”
Here in Elbasan, in the Tregan Administrative Unit, we have a new school, Jonuz Çarçiu, that will welcome around 200 children. It will be a complete educational complex with a kindergarten and brand-new facilities.
The school building was constructed from the ground up to the highest standards and includes an indoor gym, auxiliary spaces, and a redesigned yard for sports, social activities, and the arts.
“The school is newly built to high standards. In addition to classrooms and laboratories, it includes a gym, sports areas, and a schoolyard designed to support our educational programs, such as the Arts and Crafts program and the Community Center School model. This allows students to use the school facilities during and after class for educational, recreational, and sports activities,” said Minister Manastirliu.
She emphasized that investments in education directly impact the quality of teaching and improve conditions for teachers and students.
“For us, investing in educational infrastructure is essential to achieving quality education, creating better working conditions, and meeting our standards. We are investing in seven more schools, not only in Elbasan Municipality, but also in Librazhd, Cërrik, Belsh, and Prrenjas, to implement our long-term plan for high-quality, modern education that ensures better learning outcomes for our students,” Minister Manastirliu concluded.
