The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, is attending the World Education Forum, which is taking place in London, together with 100 Ministers of Education from all over the world, where they have been sharing their experiences and discussing the future of global education policies in various panels.
In her speech, Minister Manastirliu shared the Albanian experience of the reforms that the Ministry of Education and Sports has undertaken together with the Albanian government to improve the education system. She highlighted the National Programme for the Professional Development of Teachers.
“I emphasized the reforms that the Ministry of Education and Sports, the Albanian government has undertaken in order to improve the education system. Starting with the National Teacher Professional Development Programme, which has already started and is training more than 4,000 teachers in science, mathematics, technology and information.
I highlighted the work that has started to modernise the curriculum framework to include information technology as part of all subjects, but also what Albania is doing in the context of the expansion of SmartLabs with the coding programme from the first grade, which we expect to expand to 200 schools this year and to all schools in the country by 2026,” said Minister Manastirliu.
The participation of the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, in this important international forum underlines Albania’s commitment to follow the best global practices and advance in the field of education through innovation and technology.
“Efforts to include technology, innovation and artificial intelligence, all countries see it as part of the curricula as a whole of the educational systems, whether in teacher training programmes, but also in learning programmes, pre-university education, but on the other hand and to that university and through continuous investment in digital infrastructure and also high-speed Internet, which is one of the prerequisites to achieve the maximum in terms of inclusion of technology in educational systems,” said Minister Manastirliu.
