Minister Lamallari Announces Financial Compensation for Injured Police Officers and Free Housing for Families of Officers Killed in the Line of Duty

At a press conference held after the Council of Ministers meeting, Minister of Interior Besfort Lamallari announced the approval of two decisions: one pertaining to the operation of joint border crossing points, and the other strengthening economic and social support for State Police employees and the families of officers who have died in the line of duty.
The minister claims that the first decision lays out the policies, processes, and guidelines for giving financial support to the relatives of State Police officers who have passed away while carrying out their duties and for compensating officers who have been hurt while serving.
The new package offers full educational scholarships for children in pre-university and higher education, priority employment opportunities for family members, additional family pensions, and immediate financial support of up to 10 gross monthly salaries for the families of fallen officers.
Offering free lodging to the spouses and children of State Police officers who have died while performing their duties is one of the novelties brought about by the ruling. The minister claims that the National homes Entity, Albanian Investment Corporation projects, and assets seized and confiscated from organized crime—managed by the Agency for the Administration of Seized and Confiscated Assets—will all be used to build homes.
Additionally, Minister Lamallari declared that a resolution regarding the operation of joint border crossing sites had been accepted by the Council of Ministers. He claims that the adoption of similar procedures is intended to boost efficiency at border points, enhance services for tourists, and expedite the flow of people and commodities.
