Minister Malaj in Poland Focuses on Economic Cooperation and Development Bank
Minister of Finance Petrit Malaj and Minister of Economy and Innovation Delina Ibrahimaj paid an official visit to Poland, where they met with their Polish counterparts, Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański and Minister of Economy and Technology Waldemar Buda. The ministers discussed ways to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries, including within the framework of Albania’s European integration process.
During the meeting, the ministers acknowledged the shared challenges and objectives of Albania and Poland in consolidating public finances, increasing competitiveness, and improving the business climate. The discussions focused on fiscal reforms, investment support, maintaining macroeconomic stability, and deepening institutional cooperation between the two ministries of finance.
During his visit, Malaj met with representatives from Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK), Poland’s state-owned development bank. They discussed governance models, financial instruments, best practices, and ways to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation.
This meeting occurred at a time when Albania established the Albanian Development Bank to support priority sectors of the economy, facilitate access to financing, and promote long-term impact investments. BGK’s experience is considered a reference model for consolidating this institution and strengthening the country’s financial ecosystem.
The visit aims to increase economic exchanges and establish a long-term partnership between Albania and Poland in support of their sustainable development.
