Ministers Muzhaqi and Mazniku in Përrenjas for the start of the new academic year

The Minister of State for Youth and Children, Bora Muzhaqi, was in Përrenjas to mark the beginning of the new academic year. Minister Muzhaqi and the Minister of State for Local Governance, Arbjan Mazniku, chose the schools “Dalip Toçka” and “Qybra Sokoli” to extend their best wishes for the new academic year.

Minister Muzhaqi wished the students and teachers a successful and productive year in acquiring and sharing knowledge. Meanwhile, Minister Mazniku emphasized that their responsibility is to create dignified schools where students can receive quality education. The ministers were welcomed by the Mayor of Përrenjas, Nuri Belba, who accompanied them to the two schools in the village of Kotodesh and the city of Përrenjas. During their visits to these educational institutions, in addition to meeting with students, teachers, and present parents, the ministers also visited the computer labs, which are investments by the Albanian government to help children acquire knowledge and skills in these disciplines.

The “Qybra Sokoli” school is one of the 100 schools equipped with smart labs by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF) in 2022, where they began implementing a coding program from the first grade. This program has been expanded to 200 other schools, with 216 new laboratories added this year.

Minister Muzhaqi highlighted that coding helps students learn critical thinking and develop logical skills—skills that will be valuable for any career these children choose in the future.

The Albanian government has undertaken a series of projects through the Minister of State for Youth and Children, aimed at empowering young people with knowledge and understanding of the importance of coding programs from the early grades.
