New Pay Reform Strengthens Albania’s Path Toward 2030
The 2026 draft budget will reflect the new salary policy. Combined with the general increase resulting from the rise in the minimum wage, it will add nearly 100 million euros in the first year alone to strengthen the purchasing power of all social categories.
Today, regarding this matter, Prime Minister Rama announced the commencement of the annual indexation process for public sector salaries at both the central and local levels, which will be adjusted annually in accordance with inflation.
The Prime Minister announced that salary increases will apply to over 10,000 service employees, who will receive a monthly raise of 10,000 ALL following the increase in the minimum wage. Public administration specialists will receive a monthly raise of 5,000 ALL, and teachers will receive an additional 3,000 ALL per month.
In the healthcare sector, annual indexation will be supplemented by work seniority calculations for general practitioners, hospital doctors, and nurses, ensuring corresponding salary increases. Similarly, State Police employees will receive pay raises based on seniority, evaluated according to rank, in addition to indexation.
“Albania has now reached a new stage, and this reality will become increasingly evident in the daily experiences of our citizens in both the public and private sectors for all those engaged in work,” stated Prime Minister Rama.
