New School Year Begins with New Rules on Phones, Dress Code, and Safety

All public and private pre-university educational institutions will dedicate the opening day of the 2026–2027 academic year to orienting and educating students about the regulations, safety precautions, and structure of school life. According to the Ministry of Education’s guidelines, children will be introduced to the dress code, the norms of behavior on school grounds, and the prohibitions on using cell phones and other gadgets from the very first day.
According to Minister of Education Mirela Kumbaro, the first day will also be used to acquaint pupils with their peers, instructors, and school infrastructure, as well as their rights and obligations and the internal policies of the organization.
Teachers, homeroom teachers, psycho-social support personnel, and security officers are among the educational institution employees who will conduct the orientation. In addition to learning about school safety regulations, students will be exposed to labs, the library, sports facilities, common areas, and psycho-social services.
Learning activities and the “After School” program, which will be extended to 408 schools nationwide this academic year, will also be covered in the information sessions.
Minister Kumbaro claims that the purpose of the first day’s meticulous planning is to assist students in becoming acquainted with the school setting and school life from the beginning of the year, transforming it into a favorable experience that fortifies their bond with education.
