More than 30 countries, including Albania, have adopted the Joint Declaration of Support for the Recovery and Reconstruction of Ukraine.

At the ceremony attended by U.S. President Joe Biden, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Albania was represented by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani.

The declaration reaffirms the unwavering international commitment to stand with the Ukrainian people in their fight for freedom, peace, and justice.

“Ukraine can and will rise from the damages inflicted, revive its economy, and restore hope for a peaceful future for its people,” stated Minister Hasani.

Supported during the meeting of the Group of Seven (G7) + Ukraine, the document includes several points, including assistance for rebuilding Ukraine on its path to EU membership and securing approximately $50 billion by the end of 2024, derived from frozen Russian assets.

Countries that adopted the declaration include Albania, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, the Republic of Ireland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.
