Rama at European Political Community Summit Highlights Albania’s Role in Security, Energy and EU Integration

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama is attending the European Political Community Summit in Denmark. This summit is an important platform for dialogue and cooperation among European countries. Upon arrival, he was welcomed by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. Then, he delivered a statement to the media regarding Albania’s commitments to security, energy, and European integration.
During his remarks, Prime Minister Rama emphasized the importance of participating in the summit and underlined Albania’s objective of strengthening regional and European cooperation. He also responded to questions regarding the newly appointed Minister of Artificial Intelligence, emphasizing that this sector is advancing swiftly and has already yielded tangible results.
“The Minister of Artificial Intelligence is an important innovation that is working excellently. The virtual assistant has interacted with nearly one million people and issued 36,000 documents with a digital seal, none of which have been contested,” said Prime Minister Rama. He added that progress continues in harmonizing national legislation with that of the European Union and improving the public procurement system.
Regarding cybersecurity, Prime Minister Rama confirmed that Albania has experienced cyberattacks. However, thanks to the implemented measures, Albania now has one of the strongest defenses in Europe. He acknowledged ongoing challenges, citing Iran’s cyberattacks, and emphasized the importance of cooperation to ensure peace and stability in the region and across Europe.
While discussing security challenges in Europe and the Western Balkans, Prime Minister Rama emphasized the importance of a joint peace plan from the European Union. He noted that the lack of such a strategy leaves the continent more vulnerable. “Europe needs its own peace plan to become safer and better protected,” he said.
Regarding regional cooperation, Prime Minister Rama mentioned the peace agreement between Albania and Azerbaijan, and he praised the progress in the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, acknowledging the U.S. initiative in this regard.
Finally, Prime Minister Rama expressed his confidence that Albania will soon add value to the European Union and that the European Political Community is an important step toward unifying and strengthening Europe’s future.
