During his stay in Shkodra, Prime Minister Rama and the mayor of Shkodra Benet Beci inspected several areas where intervention is deemed necessary.  The dormitory of vocational schools and the modern tourist market are the next projects which will not only revive Shkodra, but will also give a new impetus to the local economy.

The project for the dormitory is already conceived and the work on the reconstruction will begin very soon, after more than 20 years without investment.

“The project is ready and we have applied for funding. Since 1983, when it was built, there has been almost no investment, only maintenance”, – said the director of the Shkodër Municipality Maintenance Department.

Out of about 400 students who study in vocational schools, there are currently only 18 in the dormitory, due to the lack of living conditions.

The reconstruction of Marketi Rus is another project which is expected to start soon.  “The Market Rus is a central, historical and important market, but unfortunately in a completely inappropriate state. We have finished the procedures and will start the reconstruction of the market.  Here we can also develop the fish market.  We have submitted another application for the fish market’, – said the mayor of Shkodra, Beci.
