The Parliamentary Assembly approves Albania’s transition into the CoE’s post-monitoring dialogue phase after 29 years

Today, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe approved by a majority vote the recommendation for Albania to conclude the monitoring phase after 29 years!

Minister Hasani thanked “the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and rapporteur Ionuț-Marian Stroe for recognizing Albania’s transformative justice reforms, our fight against corruption, and Albania’s progress in the human rights and democracy.

Albania’s commitment to the Council of Europe’s standards has been unwavering and our relentless efforts are  finally yielding  much awaited results.”

As Albania enters a new chapter of cooperation with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, we express our commitment to continue reforms towards achieving the highest standards of the Council of Europe in human rights, rule of law, and democracy.
