Unified Public Sector Employment Portal: Enhancing Transparency and Standardizing Recruitment

The government has introduced a unified employment portal for the public sector, creating a single access point for all administration job vacancies.
The puna.gov.al/SektoriPublik platform consolidates job announcements for the civil service, central and local public administration, independent institutions, and state-owned companies with over 50% public capital. This initiative addresses previous information fragmentation and provides job seekers with real-time, up-to-date data.
A new regulatory framework adopted in 2026 supports the initiative and obligates institutions to publish vacancies no later than seven days before the application deadline and report the number of applicants and final results within seven days after completing the process. These measures aim to standardize procedures, increase transparency, and strengthen accountability in public administration.
During the launch event, which was attended by Prime Minister Edi Rama, it was emphasized that the portal simplifies and streamlines the process of accessing information and applying for employment opportunities across all public institutions for young people, recent graduates, and professionals.
Adea Pirdeni, the Minister of State for Public Administration and Anti-Corruption, described the initiative as part of a profound transformation of public administration. She highlighted the goal of reshaping public administration into a competitive structure capable of attracting top talent in the labor market. She emphasized that one of the main challenges is the process of integrating into the European Union, in which the administration plays a pivotal role in implementing reforms and supporting negotiations.
She noted that the reforms include strengthening the administration as a competitive employer by revising the wage system and indexing salaries in line with inflation. The goal is to create a fairer and more sustainable structure for public employees. She noted that these measures have also contributed to improved international assessments, with Albania now ranking among the leading countries in the region for public sector human resource management.
Meanwhile, Delina Ibrahimaj, the Minister of Economy and Innovation, emphasized that the portal is a concrete step toward standardizing the recruitment process in the public administration sector. It ensures that every institution publishes job openings and results on a single platform. She pointed out that this initiative is supported by a positive economic context of sustained growth, increased new businesses, and rising investments, all of which create more employment and professional development opportunities.
Preliminary data indicates an increase in the use of the platform. During the first three months of 2026, around 180 institutions published approximately 1,500 job vacancies. It is expected that over 300 institutions will join the portal in 2026, publishing around 6,000 job vacancies.
Through the portal, citizens can register as job seekers and receive support from employment offices. The job search process becomes faster and more personalized based on profession, place of residence, and level of education. This initiative aims to promote meritocracy, attract top professionals, and advance the digitalization of public administration in accordance with European standards.
