World Jurists Association and Ministry of Justice Organize Opening Session of the World Law Congress in Tirana, Focus on Justice Reform and European Integration

In cooperation with the Albanian Ministry of Justice, the World Jurist Association will organize the opening session of the 2027 World Law Congress in Tirana on May 6 and 7. This high-level event will mark the launch of the global legal forum to be hosted in Albania next year.
Justice Minister Toni Gogu will lead the session together with Prime Minister Edi Rama and World Jurist Association President Javier Cremades. This event will convene representatives from international legal institutions, judges, and legal experts, placing Albania at the heart of discussions about the future of the rule of law.
It will open with an audiovisual presentation on key developments in Albania’s justice reform and its path toward the European Union. During the session, discussions will focus on the results of the reforms, future challenges, and priorities for strengthening the rule of law. Particular attention will be given to the role of institutions in ensuring an independent justice system that aligns with European standards.
A high-level international panel will discuss the past decade of justice reform and its future prospects, bringing together expertise from major European and global institutions.
Tirana’s selection to host the session is recognition of the progress achieved through Albania’s decade-long justice reform. It also paves the way for the organization of the 2027 World Law Congress in Albania, which will further strengthen the country’s role in the international rule of law agenda and the European integration process.
