Strengthening Controls on Unauthorized Construction and Abuse of Public Spaces
Besfort Lamallari, the interior minister, met with the National Inspectorate for the Protection of Territory (IKMT) leadership to discuss bolstering regulations to stop environmental crimes, unapproved development, and the abuse of public areas.
In order to detect and stop infractions, the meeting discussed the necessity for more institutional coordination and a more robust field presence by IKMT organizations.
In addition, the minister demanded that IKMT staff members be more accountable and communicative in carrying out their responsibilities, have a constant presence in the field, and interact more closely with the public.
