Agreement on lower roaming charges between EU and Western Balkans signed

The representatives of telecom operators from the Western Balkans and the European Union signed the agreement on lowering of roaming charges, ahead of the EU-Western Balkans Summit being held in Tirana on Tuesday.

Under this agreement, lower roaming prices will be applied to communication between the region and the EU starting from 1 October 2023.

The agreement on lower roaming costs between the Western Balkans and the EU will provide incentives for communication between citizens and businesses in the Western Balkan, reduce roaming costs for citizens travelling to the EU region, as well as cut the business operating costs.

The agreement was signed in the presence of the six leaders of the Western Balkans countries and, the President of the European Council Charles Michel, the European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen, the Commissioner for Enlargement and Good Neighbourhood, Olivér Várhelyi, and the Secretary-General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Majlinda Bregu.
