Albania-Poland Social Security Agreement Ratified

The Council of Ministers ratified an agreement between the Republic of Albania and Poland regarding social security. This agreement guarantees the mutual recognition of employment periods and benefits for citizens living and working in both countries.
Petrit Malaj, the finance minister, stated that the agreement, which was proposed by the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, is part of a series of government initiatives aimed at strengthening social protection for Albanian citizens abroad. This agreement is the 21st of its kind and the 10th with a European Union member state, further reinforcing the framework of international cooperation in this field.
Once implemented, it will allow Albanian citizens working in Poland and Polish citizens working in Albania to aggregate their contribution periods for pension purposes and other social benefits, thus preventing the loss of acquired rights.
The Albanian government has reaffirmed its commitment to expanding this network of agreements with countries that host Albanian diaspora communities. The government’s goal is to guarantee social protection and facilitate worker mobility.
