Minister Lamallari Announces “Smart City” Program Launch in Tirana Schools in September with AI-Powered Cameras Installed

With the start of the new school year, Tirana will implement the “Smart City” program, which uses cameras with cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence to improve school safety.
Before the start of the school year on September 14, Minister of the Interior Besfort Lamallari visited “Qemal Stafa” High School, one of the educational institutions where the new cameras have been put, to see how the system is working.
The minister claims that the use of technology and artificial intelligence will supplement current security measures at educational institutions, with an emphasis on safeguarding pupils and school personnel.
The State Police will be physically present in schools in addition to the new system. Currently stationed at “Qemal Stafa” High School, two police officers will be part of the security measures for the upcoming academic year.
