An international tender for the Auto Moto Park Albania, an auto-racing circuit project set to be built in the central Albanian region of Elbasan, is being held on Friday with participation of leading international companies interested in development of this project. The launch of the international tender represents another step closer to finalization of the first ever circuit auto-racing project set to be constructed in compliance with the FIA and the FIM standards in the area of Kraste, Elbasan.

The project, in addition to promoting motorsports culture and road safety, is also expected to become an attractive destination for the foreign racers and will spur local tourism development and economy, turning Albania into the region’s epicentre of motorsport events. The project will be funded by the Generation Directorate of the Road Service and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Economy, in collaboration with the Municipality of Elbasan and through the assistance of the Albanian government.

Prime Minister Edi Rama attended the presentation of the designs by a number of important companies operating in this area, considering the tender an historic event for Albanian motorsports and Albania itself.

First and foremost, I would like to appreciate all the companies participating in this historic event for the Albanian motorsports, but also for Albania itself, because, thanks to their ideas and designs, we will select also the best design or the one we would  deem the best one to clear the way to a new era  for Elbasan and Albania, a new era to put Albania on a map it is absent at all and to open another door for another category of visitors to Albania to further strengthen our economy and our country’s image.

On the other hand, this project paves the way to a new front of quality employment for young people, not just jobs, but high paying jobs, definitely high technology and new opportunities and fresh horizons for the new generation.

I don’t want to take more of your time, but I would like to sincerely thank Blendi Gonxhe and his whole team that keeps on delivering on the transformation of the public services in Albania through inspiration, passion and dedication through the power of example.

The transport service ranks first on the overall ranking of our public services and this is precisely thanks to this commitment, high sense of responsibility and inspiration.

This project is not a requirement as part of the Director’s job description or of the General Directorate team. This project is the result of this inspiration I already mentioned and I am confident that by joining all the forces, we will finalise and deliver on it and I am also confident that, like many things until yesterday that simply seemed impossible, they are now on the way to becoming possible, even what would have seemed impossible until today to host a Formula 1 race in Albania, the future will show that this is also possible.
