Prime Minister Edi Rama meets with Prime Minister of Republic of Italy Giorgia Meloni in Rome

Prime Minister Edi Rama was extended an official welcome ceremony by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Italy Giorgia Meloni as part of a high-level visit to Italy on Wednesday.

The tete-a-tete meeting between Prime Minister Rama and his Italian counterpart Meloni at Palazzo Chigi was followed by an expanded joint meeting of the respective government delegations.

The traditional Albania-Italy friendship and readiness of both countries to further deepen the excellent bilateral cooperation between the two countries, which have a great potential to do much more, were unanimously reaffirmed at the meeting.

Ways to further strengthen economic ties was another topic discussed at length during the meeting, with Italy, as Albania’s strategic partner, having a very important role to play in this regard through the ever-increasing presence of Italian enterprises in our country.

The meeting also explored investment opportunities that Albania offers in many potential sectors, including energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and tourism in particular, which saw a record growth,  this year, becoming one of the most attractive areas for investment projects.

As for Albania’s European integration, Italy reaffirmed continued strong support for all stages of the country’s EU accession bid.
