At the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, addressed a video message to all women and girls.
In this video message, Minister Koçiu highlights the efforts and commitment of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in the ongoing fight against breast cancer, the most common tumor disease among women.
Mrs. Koçiu emphasizes that the extension of free mammography coverage throughout the country, as well as the expansion of oncology departments in regional hospitals, has led to an increase in the number of early diagnoses year on year, as well as a decrease in the number of deaths.
The Minister called on all women and girls to cooperate with health structures, stressing that early diagnosis remains the most effective cure and that mammograms save lives.
The Minister of Health called on all women and girls to take advantage of the free mammography program offered throughout Albania by making an appointment for a check-up every day of the year.
“Let’s fight breast cancer together. Thanks to our weapons and doctors, this is a battle that many mothers and women are winning successfully. Join the national breast cancer awareness and screening program. Love yourself! Report in time! – concludes Albana Koçiu, Minister of Health and Social Protection.
