UNESCO, Minister Hasani: Active and revitalized multilateralism, the only way to move forward

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani attended in Paris, the Plenary Debate of the 42nd Session of the General Conference of UNESCO.

Minister Hasani emphasized that UNESCO is an important actor in multilateral cooperation, as he underlined that active and reinvigorated multilateralism remains the only way to move forward.

“Albania has put forward its candidature to the Executive Board, in the upcoming elections of UNESCO. If elected, we are determined to play an active role in ensuring good governance, transparency and accountability of the Organization. Albania will take a constructive approach, aiming to strengthen inclusive cooperation and the spirit of consensus within the organization”, the Albanian chief diplomat stated.

Elections for members of the UNESCO Executive Board will be held on November 15.

Albania has submitted its candidacy, to be voted on November 15 2023, for membership of the UNESCO Executive Board for the period 2023-2027.
