Today, Albanians proudly mark the Day of the National Flag and celebrate the 112th anniversary of their independence. As in every year, the city of Vlora, a historic symbol of this pivotal moment, hosted hundreds of citizens for the official flag-raising ceremony. Prime Minister Edi Rama attended the event, where he laid a wreath of flowers and bowed in solemn respect at the monumental site dedicated to Ismail Qemali.
Distinguished political leaders from both Albania and Kosovo also took part in the celebrations, including the President of Albania, Bajram Begaj; Speaker of Parliament Elisa Spiropali; and the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti. The festivities began in The Flag Square with the National Anthem and continued with moving tributes to honor the efforts and sacrifices of the Albanian patriots who fought for independence.
Independence Day serves as a moment of reflection and pride for all Albanians, celebrating the nation’s history, culture, and national identity.
