Electricity Distribution Operator Launches 24/7 Call Center Service for Citizens

The Electricity Distribution Operator has taken another step to get closer to the citizens and improve the quality of its services. Since November 1, the call center system has been in operation, providing services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Through this system, citizens can submit complaints, report problems or request information about various services offered by the company.

All residents also have access to a chat box where they can ask questions on various topics and receive immediate responses. Since its inception, the chat box has been used to provide information and solutions to more than 2,600 subscribers.

Belinda Balluku, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, and Enea Karakaçi, Administrator of the Electricity Distribution Operator, visited the facilities where the call center employees work. They were briefed on the initial impact of this new service.

Administrator Karakaçi explained that by expanding the range of online services offered, the Electricity Distribution Operator has reduced waiting times and saved citizens’ time. “We have added online services as one of our many new efforts. Since October 15, 600 new connection applications and 2,100 debt verifications have been processed completely online without contacting customer service offices,” Karakaçi said.

Deputy Prime Minister Balluku emphasized that the digitization of services not only saves citizens time and improves the quality of services, but also increases transparency. Transparency comes from innovation. We’re working on smart meters that will allow subscribers to access everything through their phones. But it will take time and money,” he continued.

In addition, Minister Balluku said that efforts are being made to streamline the financial and technical operations of state-owned energy companies in order to provide Albanians with cheaper electricity tariffs from 2025. “We are looking for ways to optimize processes in order to reduce electricity prices as of January 1, 2025,” she said.
The call center can be reached at 042274141 for any questions or requests.
