During the meeting held at the Ministry of Education and Sports with the rectors of public and non-public universities, Minister Ogerta Manastirliu emphasised the creation of an attractive and competitive academic offer for local and foreign students.
On the eve of the start of the new academic year, the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, held a meeting with the rectors of public and private universities to discuss the challenges of higher education and the priorities of joint work for the expansion of internationalisation projects for universities, starting a process of profiling them as well as supporting students through scholarships for priority programs.
“As the new academic year is about to begin, we enabled university registration through our centre and the university portal, real-time review and reorganization of quotas, implemented according to your requirements. What is important in the program that the government set up to grant scholarships equal to the minimum salary to students who choose priority programs, is precisely the link between the programme and the labour market,” said Minister Ogerta Manastirliu.
“Surely, during all these years, internationalisation remains our biggest challenge, bringing our universities as close as possible to foreign universities, building joint programmes, providing double degrees, making our educational offer as attractive as possible, not only for our students, but also for foreign students”, said Minister Manastirliu.
The Minister of Education and Sports and the rectors of public and non-public universities also discussed the creation of a new policy document for higher education. During the meeting, which was held at the Ministry of Education and Sports, the current challenges in response to demographic changes were also discussed, such as the problems related to the number of students, the legislation for universities, their profiling, and the further internationalisation of educational institutions.
