Minister Ervin Mete chairs the meeting of the Investment Council, themed “On Improving the Quality of Digitized Public Services for Businesses”

The Investment Council held its meeting under the chairmanship of the Minister of Finance and Economy, Mr. Ervin Mete, titled “On Improving the Quality of Digitized Public Services for Business”.

Mr. Mete stated that the Ministry of Finance and Economy is in the process of preparing the draft budget for 2024 and the new tax package. In this regard, the Minister invited the business community to participate in the relevant consultations.
“We welcome recommendations and suggestions from the business community, for which we will continue to hold special meetings to discuss and better understand the approach and proposals of business representatives,” said Mr. With him.
In his speech, the Minister appreciated the contribution of the Investment Council in addressing a number of issues, describing it as an essential platform that brings together business representatives, state institutions, and international partners.
Referring to the survey on digitized public services conducted by the Investment Council Secretariat among businesses, the Minister noted that the business community is generally aware that online services have reduced the administrative burden on businesses. From the responses of business representatives, it appears that avoiding physical contact with applicants for various public services has reduced abusive practices. Companies are also mostly satisfied with the use of online platforms.

In this context, Mr. Mete invited the representatives of businesses and chambers of commerce to give their recommendations on how to further develop the quality of delivery of digitalized public services, with the aim of improving the business climate, reducing entrepreneurial problems, and increasing competition in the region and beyond.
At the end of his speech, the Minister reiterated the importance of strengthening cooperation between business and government in order to improve the business climate and sustainable growth of the economy.

The Minister of State for Entrepreneurship Protection and Business Climate, Mrs. Delina Ibrahimaj, the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mrs. Natasha Ahmetaj, and representatives of business associations and international institutions were among the participants in the meeting.
