Minister Manastirliu states that 320 teachers are involved in career counseling, which is essential for identifying new trends and orienting students toward vocational education

Ogerta Manastirliu, the Minister of Education and Sports, has announced from “Sami Frasheri” High School that the selection process for teachers who fit the requirements for two new positions, Career Guidance Coordinator and School Quality Assurance Coordinator, has begun. These new roles will serve as the major pillars for enhancing teaching quality and providing career advice to students.

“The new roles we are introducing this year are two positions that will immediately come to life through the selection of 640 coordinating teachers, who will assess the quality of schools and provide career guidance throughout our education system.

This year, 4,635 students have enrolled in vocational education, a 10% increase compared to the previous year. This is a crucial moment for the education system, as it takes on this strategic direction of continuous student guidance, not only for the education system but also for career development, which begins in early education,” said Minister of Education and Sports Ogerta Manastirliu.

Minister Manastirliu highlighted the role of the career guidance coordinator, who will play a key role in helping students make informed choices about their academic and professional futures. This role will work closely with students, parents, and teaching staff to guide them towards general secondary education or vocational education based on their interests and abilities. A total of 320 teachers will take on the role of career coordinators, ensuring quality and inclusivity in student guidance. Meanwhile, 320 Quality Assurance Coordinators will ensure that schools maintain and improve their performance standards. They will assist teachers in their professional development and guarantee the quality of teaching, effectively becoming mentors to them.

These initiatives, along with infrastructure investments, are part of the new strategy for pre-university education.

“Today we are at a point where, on the very first day of the new school year, we have opened 25 new, reconstructed, and rehabilitated schools. In addition, 40 construction sites are underway, and we plan to invest in more schools to ensure that, across the entire country, both in cities and rural areas, we have the same educational infrastructure. But what truly forms the heart of a school is not just the walls and the infrastructure, but the teachers who lay the foundations of education. The addition of new roles and teacher profiles within the education system will be a valuable asset in further supporting students, families, and society,” concluded Minister Manastirliu.
