“Made in Albania” products on the global market will boost defense spending by 2030, states to Minister Peleshi at the NATO Ministerial

Niko Peleshi, the Minister of Defense, attended the NATO defense ministers’ Ministerial conference in Brussels. The Washington Summit, which is anticipated to take place in July, will be based on talks of the most important security and defense problems in the Euro-Atlantic region, which were deliberated during this ministerial meeting.

According to Minister Peleshi, Albania has formally committed to contribute 2.03% of GDP to the Alliance, demonstrating its continued strong financial commitment. This contribution’s major portion will go toward updating the armed forces’ arsenal of weapons and gear.
Minister Peleshi briefed his colleagues on Albania’s aspirations to grow its defense industry and its intention to introduce “Made in Albania” items into the global market by 2030.

Defense Minister Niko Peleshi spoke about the defense and security situation in the Western Balkans, describing it as unpredictable and fragile, during his speech. Minister Peleshi considers the narrative surrounding territorial claims and the tone directed towards the Western allies concerning from the All Serbian Assembly that was held in Belgrade a few days ago.

The Minister of Defense urged for a reasonable and realistic attitude toward the security dynamics and defense developments in Kosovo while stating Albania’s support for Kosovo on its road toward Euro-Atlantic integration.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg urged the defense ministers to approve the aid and training package for Ukraine during the ministerial meeting, stressing the significance of implementing the Washington Summit’s defense and deterrence agenda.
