The Joint Consultative Council between the European Union and Albania has been established

The Minister of State for Local Government, Arbjan Mazniku, attended a meeting in Brussels of the European Council of Regions, during which the Joint Consultative Committee between the EU and Albania was established.
In addition to Minister Mazniku, the mayors of Durrës Municipality, Emirjana Sako, and Kavajë Municipality, Fisnik Ismaili, also participated in this visit.

The collaboration with the European Union within this committee is of significant importance, given that approximately 70% of European legislation (acquis communitaire) will be implemented at the local level.

In this meeting, Minister Mazniku underscored the significance of municipalities possessing a competent and adequately trained administrative apparatus to facilitate the implementation of the reforms necessitated by the European Union and to enable them to secure greater funding from EU programs.

Furthermore, the recent approval of the Growth Plan of 6 billion euros by the European Parliament represents a crucial and beneficial instrument for the advancement of local areas.
